Poor Formatting/Excel LookSlips that look like they were typed in Word without proper structure, company logo, or standard components raise red flags.

Freelancer vs Salaried Employee

Salaried Employees

Receive a fixed monthly salary with structured deductions like PF and TDS under Section 192. They get standard Salary Slips and Form 16.

Freelancers / Consultants

Raise 'Invoices' instead of receiving salary slips. Payments are subject to 10% TDS under Section 194J. They get Form 16A and show income under PGBP.

This tool generates a standard formatted salary slip. It is legally valid ONLY IF it accurately represents actual salary credited to your bank account and is authorized/stamped by your employer.

Can I use this for a bank loan or visa application?

Yes, but you must get it printed, signed, and stamped by your company's HR or authorized signatory. Banks cross-verify the net amount with your bank statements.

CTC (Cost to Company) includes Employer PF and Gratuity. Gross Salary is CTC minus Employer PF/Gratuity. Net Salary is Gross Salary minus your deductions (Employee PF, TDS, PT).

Why is TDS deducted from my salary?

Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) is a mechanism by the government to collect income tax in advance. Employers are legally mandated to estimate your annual tax and deduct it monthly.

Is a company seal/stamp mandatory?

Many modern companies issue digitally signed PDF salary slips which do not require a physical stamp. However, for smaller companies, banks often insist on a physical stamp and signature.

What is UAN and why is it important?

Universal Account Number (UAN) is a 12-digit number provided by EPFO. It centralizes all your PF accounts across different employers. Mentioning it proves your PF is being deposited.

What if my company pays me in cash?

If you are paid in cash, a salary slip serves as your only proof of income. You MUST ensure the slip is signed and stamped by the employer on a revenue stamp if the amount exceeds ₹5,000.
